Created by Enquiries Red Alert, Modified on Sat, 18 Mar 2023 at 02:26 PM by Enquiries Red Alert

This procedure outlines the circumstances when Incapacitant Spray should be deployed and gives instructions on the actions that must be undertaken.

The Incapacitant spray is dispensed from a hand held pressurized canister in a mono-jet of liquid.  Its identified effective deployment range is between 3 and 10 feet after which strong wind and adverse weather can affect the delivery system.  The canister is designed to deliver between 6 to 8 seconds worth of spray.

Permanent injury maybe caused to a person if incapacitant is sprayed directly into the eyes from a distance of less than 3 feet.
